Ceremony officiant

In French, English and Hungarian

You are a couple of different nationalities and mother tongues and one of you is French?
Are some of your guests and family members native French speakers?
Don’t you want a large number of your guests, even your most important family members, to sit through a wedding ceremony that they don’t understand?
Wouldn’t you like your wedding to be a Hungarian ceremony, interpreted into a foreign language, where everything is understood in words, but one nationality and its customs take a back seat?

This is exactly what I can help you with as a multilingual celebrant.

A wedding ceremony that is truly about you!
In every thought, in every element, it reflects your feelings, your individuality, your relationship!

Let all your guests share equally in the unforgettable moments of your wedding!

If you want your wedding ceremony to be a complex, unique ceremony that builds on your multilingualism, your multiple nationalities, you’ve come to the right place!

Which ceremony am I NOT conducting?

Unofficial civil marriage

...because it can only be conducted by a civil officer employed by a local authority, in designated venues within its jurisdiction.

Does not contain any mandatory elements

....only what you feel is yours:
If you don't want quotes or poems, we won't include them, but if you want one that is close to you, we will definitely include it. - if you don't like public speaking and don't want to make a vow, you don't have to do that, I can offer you several other options instead

Not a multilingual dubbing of the same text

I try very hard to structure the ceremony in such a way that I address them in a way and with a rhythm that gives the greatest emotional plus to everyone. No way am I going to dubbing myself in several languages, sentence by sentence. In fact! Each language has its own weight: this ceremony is NOT a Hungarian wedding translated into French or English. There will be elements that come first in one language, and elements that come first in the other, depending on who they are primarily addressed to.

I'm not going to tell you that the "love boat"

...but I will tell you all the stories, plans and feelings that you think should be made public.

Individual ceremonies at any time and place, without the restrictions of the registrar.

What happens if you are entrusted with the role of ceremony officiant?

  1. You will definitely need to have an initial conversation in person or online, where I can get to know you, tell me about your wishes, ideas and possible fears about the wedding.
  2. Then I will send you a general questionnaire with questions to think about together, and some ideas and practical thoughts from the last decade. This is how we agree on the elements, the main parts, the important moments of the ceremony.
  3. At this point I start to go deeper into your relationship, of course only as much as you want. I’ll give you each a set of questions and if you’re in the game, you’ll answer them separately and send them to me, so I can see both your points of view.
  4. If necessary, we talk, discuss and ask each other questions until we have a complete concept of the ritual texts and the course of the ceremony.
  5. I will be present on the Big Day in good time, with the appearance you ask for. My outfit will match the style and colours of your wedding.
  6. I will coordinate the furnishing and setting up of the ceremony venue and the preparation of the necessary supplies and equipment, even if you are only expecting me to act as your officiant.

What should I do so that we can continue?

Fill in our enquiry form and let's make an appointment for a free consultation, during which I will answer all your questions.

Wedding planning

Wedding planning

Planning a wedding for the first time is a complex enough task, even if all the guests come from the same country, the same culture, speak the same language and are familiar with the local facilities and service providers. However, if you are planning an international wedding with guests from up to ten to twenty different nationalities, if you have lived abroad and can only travel a few times to organise it in person, you may have a number of - not unpleasant - questions...

Frequently Asked Questions

Although I specialise in French-language and cultural weddings, I can of course also cater for weddings with other international or even Hungarian guests. In such cases, I am usually chosen by couples who value a clean, refined and elegant style.

Of course, you can also assign sub-tasks. I only do off-peak services alone, from October to April, or last minute, for missed dates. However, you can be the Master of Ceremonies at any time of the year and it is up to you whether and to what extent you want to be involved in the organisation.

Of course I am also very happy to work with other colleagues. If we find a common voice, this is not an exclusion. Feel free to contact us!

Official marriages in Hungary can only be performed by a registrar employed by a public authority, so I cannot help you with this. However, I can translate the civil wedding ceremony performed by the registrar into French.

Church ceremonies, depending on the denomination, do not really like the presence of a lay interpreter and it is much more beautiful if the minister/priest who celebrates the ceremony can interpret it in two languages. Fortunately, pastors/priests are flexible to deliver to different locations and I have a very good relationship with a French-speaking celebrant in many denominations, so I am happy to help you find the right person. If for whatever reason we cannot find a better solution, it is of course possible for me to interpret parts of the ceremony.

Yes, of course. I interpret all formal and informal programme elements. In fact, I ask that you give my contact details to family members, witnesses and friends in advance. That way, if there are any surprises, we can arrange them in advance, I can calculate them into the schedule, but for you, the surprise is still there.

First, please fill in the application form so that I can see your requirements. I will definitely need to meet you in person (in Budapest) or online to get a more complex picture of you. If we then mutually decide to cooperate, we will confirm the agreement with a contract. This includes the payment schedule, which depends on the type of service, but in all cases includes an advance of between 30-50%, with the final payment being made at the end of the wedding.

Yes, I regularly take on assignments abroad in any role. I have worked in many places in France (Loire chateau, Provence, Brittany on the ocean coast) and in other countries (Switzerland, Germany, Italy). I’m also happy to travel wherever you dream your Big Day.

We strive for the best quality and to make your Big Day perfect. We cannot accept mediocre service. A lot of master of ceremonies, wedding planners and officiants focus on being cheap, which leads to terrible results. We are not one of them. Your Big Day is unique and unrepeatable, don’t leave it to beginners who have been spreading their wings for a few years. Believe me, a professional with more than a decade of experience and contacts will save you incomparably more annoyance, stress and – in many cases, with good organisation – a lot more money than the few extra percentages that his service costs. However, if you think in terms of a package and entrust us with the organisation and even the officiating in addition to the master of ceremonies, you can be sure that you will get a better price than if you choose these service providers individually.
